Bkosoff is one of my favourite photographers and his entire timeline is filled with wonderful black and white compositions. The above image is actually two images that I feel provide a nice juxtaposition when arranged in this manner.
On their own, they are both wonderful images – but pairing them together is brilliant. The lower image is segmented with various layers, from the fence, to the grassy field, the line of trees and shadowed mountains contrasting with the back layer of the lighter mountain range.
The clouds successfully transition the two images together. The full gamut of shades are here from white to black and the images mesh well.
The first image is very much natural and serene, then as we ascend the clouds we can see these smokestacks protruding from the clouds.
I am a fan of these multiple image compositions, and this isn’t the first one that I’ve highlighted in this way. Let me know if you like these types of compositions, or if you have some favourites of your own to share.
In the meantime, be sure to check out the rest of Bkosoff ‘s gallery!
